Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation Postponed

April 25, 2020

By Will

Following an announcement by Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly on Friday, April 24th 2020, all Confirmation and First Holy Communion ceremonies have been postponed.

We are unable to provide alternative dates for these ceremonies due to the current situation with Covid-19. These are special days in the lives of our wonderful First Holy Communion and Confirmation children and their families. While postponement of both ceremonies may have been expected, the announcement will mean massive disappointment for all involved. Although we understand this, we must remember that right now the health and safety of all of us in our community is paramount.

We look forward to celebrating these special days with you as soon as it is safe to do so. As Archbishop Kieran has said, “ hold firm and take heart”.

For now please keep following the HSE guidelines and doing what the government asks of us.We’re in this together!

Stay safe, take care and remember to be kind to each other!
