DONIE, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS!

The 7th of November was a very special day in Moycarkey National School as our amazing caretaker, Donie Shanahan entered retirement. The school has been excellently looked after by Donie for the past 20 years and it is a credit to him. His kind nature has also made him the most popular member of our school! Thankfully, Donie will be remaining with us on a part time basis. Green Flag News

After the great success of last year’s Water Green Flag, the newly formed Green School Committee are already hard at work revising our three flags and preparing for the upcoming flag for Transport. Sean Hartigan from An Taisce visited the school  at the beginning of the year and completed a road and transport survey with the children. This involved a survey of the road conditions from the school to Moycarkey village, the level of traffic and safety issues.
