Local History Trail

The children from 5th and 6th recently went on a local history trail. First stop was Leithmore in Two-Mile Borris where we visited the ruins of a monastic settlement. Liam Hayes, the owner of the land was generous enough to give us all a free sample of his yogurts. They were delicious. We then visited Moycarkey Castle and were able to go into the castle. Rugby Tournament in Cashel

On Thursday, the 9th of June, 5th and 6th class went to Cashel Rugby Club to take part in a tag rugby blitz. Schools from all over Co. Tipperary took part. We had two teams taking part, the Eagles and the Rabbits. Both teams played very well. The Eagles were knocked out at the quarter final stage. National Children’s Choir

The children from 5th and 6th class recently participated in the National Children’s Choir in the Premier Hall on May 10th. It was a fantastic occasion for the school and the concert was enjoyed by all! Here are two accounts of the event from Holly Tobin, 5th Class and Megan Lahart, 6th.   “5th and 6th class recently took part in the Cor na nOg concert on the 10th of May in the Preimer Hall, Thurles. Poetry Competition

We held a poetry competition last week entitled “The Way to School”. There was a very high standard in the competition and well done to all! The 5th class winner was Saoirse O’Meara and the 6th class winners  were Michael O’ Callaghan and Caolan Noonan. Click on the link below to read the poems.
