The Easter Bunny
Friday the 15th of April was a very special day for the children in senior infants and first class as the Easter Bunny arrived early. He kindly left lots of eggs for the children. The children, accompanied by their special teddy bears went on an egg hunt with Ms. Kennedy. The children were delighted with what they found hidden in the grass and the hedging. The Easter Bunny was very generous and the pupils were delighted with their gifts. We then enjoyed an Easter party while watching Toy Story 3 . The pupils of junior infants, senior infants and first class went on a trip to Thurles library on Wednesday 30th of March. We were treated to a spectacular story telling session with Denis- the librarian. The children really enjoyed the stories which he presented by entering into the role of the characters. Denis brought the books to life for the children and they were eager to become part of the stories. It is hoped to introduce the Literacy Lift-Off Programme to Moycarkey N.S. in the very near future. Literacy Lift-Off is a whole-class intervention aimed at increasing each child’s competency in oral language, reading and writing.
