St. Patrick’s Day Parade – great fun had by all!
Well done to all who turned out and participated in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which took place in Littleton village at 10.30 a.m. We are proud to announce that we received the first prize for our category in the parade! Congratulations to all! This year we took a multi-thematic approach to our section of the parade. The first theme was “Be cool, save Energy in our school” and we proudly displayed our newly acquired Green flag for “Energy” reduction, along with the first flag our school received for “Litter and waste” management. Reading Recovery is an individualised, early intervention programme for children who experience difficulty with literacy. The target children are aged between five years and nine months and six years and six months. It involves a daily one-to-one lesson with a highly trained teacher for a period of between 15 and 20 weeks. Our school has been chosen as a pilot school for this new initiative from Mr. Edmund. The children in 6th class will take place in a series of 5 one hour lessons which combine SPHE lessons and themes with sport (tag rugby) to help the children see that what they learn in the class can be used in everyday life and on the sports field. Greetings from 2nd and 3rd class. We would like to fill you in on all our latest Green School News. We are delighted that our school was successful in achieving our next flag – The Energy Flag.
